The Opal in this photo is a younger, happier version of
my Mother who is now almost 90 years old and the victim of a terrible mind robbing disease called dementia. For
a time the days of her youth depicted here were her only memories but now, they too are gone. She is now an empty shell
of what was once this beautiful, vibrant, fun loving girl, the girl I remember and called Mama.
